January 18, 2012 Leave a comment

The Marshall JVM1 50th Anniversary is a Limited Edition 1w valve head based on Marshall’s current flagship model the JVM. It features all of the mod cons like dual footswitchable channels, presence control and speaker emulated line output

The Marshall JVM are the dirtiest Marshall amplifiers to date and likewise the JVM1 is the dirtiest of the 50th Anniversary 1w amps. 2 x ECC83 preamp valves and 1 x ECC82 power valve provide Marshall’s classic tone while the amp’s own voicing combined with Bass, Middle, Treble and Presence controls dishes up the most modern Marshall tone yet

The head version features 8 & 16 Ohm Speaker Outputs, and the combo also has an 8″ Celestion speaker.

Marshall 50th Anniversary DSL1 Specs

The Marshall DSL1 50th Anniversary is a Limited Edition 1w valve amp based on Marshall’s JCM2000 Dual Super Lead amplifier. The 1990s bought with them new technology and new technology meant amps could be more flexibile than ever. You didn’t have to settle for a single tone anymore, you could have variety! The DSL1 is a dual channel tube amp that (like its forefather) can be controlled from an included footswitch.

The DSL1 offers up an impressive amount of gain and the tone can be shaped by the separate volume and gain for each channel and an overall 3 band EQ. And that’s not all! Further sculpt your tone with ‘Shift’ and ‘Deep’ switches that allow the mid/bass voice to be altered.

This combo version has an 8″ Celestion Speaker

The Marshall JCM1 50th Anniversary is a Limited Edition 1w valve amp based on Marshall’s sought after JCM800, considered by many guitarists to be the best amp ever made! The JCM800 was made to rock. Hard. And so is the JCM1! With 2 x ECC83 preamp valves and 1 x ECC82 power valve you can already tell the famous Marshall tone is going to be there, then factor in the Master Volume (They finally got there!), gain boast and the JCM1′s 0.1w all of which allow more and more gain at lower and lower volumes, you end up with a amp that gets the filthy saturated tones of the 80s at a volume that won’t cause the plaster in your walls to crumble.

The JCM features controls for Pre-amp volume (gain), Master volume, Bass, Middle and Treble, allowing you to dial in the exact tone you’re after.

This combo version features a 10″ Celestion speaker

Marshall Golden Jubilee Amps – 1 Watt Limited Editions

January 9, 2012 Leave a comment

Well Well! Here’s a little taster of what’s going to be released by Marshall to start their Golden Jubilee celebrations at NAMM.  The pictures above show the JTM-1H, JTM-1C, JMP-1H, JMP-1C, JCM-1H, JCM-1C, DSL-1H, DSL-1C, JVM-1H and finally the JVM-1C.  Obvioulsy they are respectively H and C for head and combo, and then based on a JTM, JMP, JCM800, DSL and JVM.  All are 1 watt, but details have yet to be released on the exact poweramp specs.  Most people are assuming they will be tube based, with something like 12AX7, or something similar (like some other popular 1 watt tube amps).  The combo’s feature 10″ speakers, which means they will be good for some home jamming or recording… But unless you mic them, will likely be too quiet for any gigs.

It is said they will be released one every 10-12 weeks throughout 2012, and these versions will not be released again… Although the sensible consumer would take a guess that some slightly modified versions will be put into production in a year or two for less money…  But there’s no guaranteeing that… So if you want one, you should place an order as soon as they’re officially released at NAMM (which is when you will be able to order one).
