Here’s Slash’s own custom Marshall AFD5, 5 watt combo. I wonder if it will ever get produced into a production model… According to this video, it sounds like it will some time in 2012:
Eight months ago Line 6 released their latest and greatest POD to date: The POD HD. Within this new series of PODs, incorporating HD modeling, the POD HD300 is the lion cub within the pride, but think of it more as a Royal Marine trained lion cub with an assault rifle than some fluffy pet your kids want to take home from the zoo. Now also add that Line 6 has just released a free update [v1.31] which includes 6 additional HD amp models and deep edit control of the original and also the new amp models. This increases the total HD amp models to 22, so there’s even more choice of sounds for us tone freaks to choose from.

Above you can see a couple of pics I took on my iPhone, in the Marshall demo booth at Musikmesse 2011 in Frankfurt.
In one photo you can clearly see the Slash AFD100 on the far left, then the JYM100 to the right of it. Then on the far right the JMD100. There’s also a pic of The Chris George band actually playing, and I was lucky enough to shake Chris by the hand and have a discussion about how good the new Slash and Malsteem heads sound.

Well the waiting is over. I just got a call saying my Slash Les Paul is in stock, and will ship out to me today.
The bad news is that the same store is showing on their website that these guitars are sold out… Other stores aren’t showing that so if you’re quick you may just be able to snatch one of the last few available… Rest assured these will be collectors editions and probably will hold their value for a long time!

So it looks like my mocked up picture of the AFD100 actually looks quite accurate. Mine’s the picture on its own. The real prototype is the one on top of the other amp (The Silver Jubilee)
