Marshall SL-5 – Great British Guitar Show Report

I’ve had an awesome day at the Great British Guitar Show today with fellow Line 6 user expert Mr_Arkadin. While at The New Bingley Hall in Birmingham I also got up to the following:
Meeting and chatting with Marshall’s very own Chris George about the 50th anniversary, the new SL-5, previous amps and the use of their built in EPA, and how Santiago Alvarez makes amps that sound great!

Meeting and briefly chatting to Zilla Music’s Paul Gough while listening to a demo of a Diezel amp through a gorgeous looking and great sounding snakeskin Zilla cab. The demo was loud, hence only briefly chatting.
Having a go on the Marshall SL-5 on the Marshall stand, with a great playing LAG guitar.
Chatting to a very nice chap at the Matrix Amplification stand, and trying out a prototype JCM800 voiced hybrid 500 watt Matrix amp head (The Raptor RP100) through a Matrix cab, which was super light to carry.
Watching Chris George demoing the Marshall SL-5 and DSL15C, both of which sounded great. Check the following videos which I recorded on a meagre iPhone, yet they do sound OK. But for reference, the real life sound was better than the videos.
